Life is too short

GRG Sports is all about living in and for the moment. Today I did exactly that and here is how my little Monday mini adventure went.
A couple days ago I bought a new fishing lure. It is called a jitterbug. It is a top water lure used to catch bass among other fish. I was so excited I wanted to try it out the very day I purchased it but it rained that night and the next day I had a wedding reception to go to. Ofcourse Sunday was father's day and I did the family thing but let me tell you I was thinking about trying out that new lure all day.
Well that lure got the best of me today. I woke up around 7am, ate a little breakfast, got ready, and rode my bike to work like any other work day. Around 11am that dang fishing lure started talkin' to me. I spent my lunch break planning out a mini adventure. I decided to ride my bike to Rock Cut State Park right after work (I needed to atleast ride 8 miles anyways) which was 11 miles but before I left I worked it out so I would meet a friend out there so we could do some bass fishing and I could try out my new lure. It took around 40 minutes to get to the park and I had some time to kill before Trent was going to meet me at Pierce Lake so I spent 45 - 60 minutes riding the trails (I have lost all of my riding skills so starting back from ground zero) not only to get some additional riding time but to enjoy some time on my bike. We spend a lot of time riding miles to get in shape so we can have the stamina to really enjoy the trail riding. I forgot how much fun the trails are at Rock Cut State Park and it was good to finally get back on the trails after several years of being a bum.

Trent and I met up at the Harlem entrance and proceeded to start our fishing adventure. We started just north ot the boat ramp and I caught the smallest bass ever on the jitterbug. The lure was almost as big as the fish. We didn't have much luck so we drove on to the opposite side of the lake to try another spot. Just before callin' it quits Trent catches a little bass(much larger than my though) to keep from getting skunked. We no sooner packed up shop when the storm rolled in and it started storming.
While we didn't catch much for fish it was a great time just to get outdoors and enjoy. I couldn't ask for a better day. Put in a good road ride, rode some fun trails, and did a little fishin'. Perfection!
